Wired Server contains everything you need to easily set Up your own server. It comes in two different distributions: Wired Server for Mac OS X and Wired Server for Unix.
Wired Server for Mac OS X is designed to take advantage of Mac OS X technologies like Bonjour, and handles Finder aliases transparently. Aside from the regular Wired Server, this package also contains an easy-to-use System Preference panel for GUI configuration. Wired Server for Mac OS X runs on Mac OS X 10.4.11 and later, and is a Universal application that runs natively on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macs.
Wired Server for Unix builds and runs on most POSIX compliant systems, including Mac OS X, FreeBSD, OpenBSD and Linux. It's been designed as a daemon and works well in an headless server environment.
